Medical approach

An approach grounded in diagnosis and clinical rigour

01

Hair loss

What happens on the scalp sometimes originates elsewhere. The diagnosis relies on a careful assessment, based on a detailed history, a physical examination, trichoscopy and, when relevant, targeted investigations. The decision — to monitor, investigate or treat — is made together with the patient, and follow-up allows changes to be measured over time.

02

Skin conditions

Every skin lesion or rash has its own history. A clinical examination, complemented by dermoscopy, helps determine its nature. Depending on what is observed, monitoring, treatment, a biopsy or removal may be proposed.

Training and practice

Clinical practice and training

A specialist in family medicine, Dr. Pouliot provides medical care for hair loss and scalp conditions, as well as general dermatology services.

He completed advanced clinical training in alopecia (hair loss) through the Evidence-Based Hair Fellowship (EBHF), directed by Dr. Jeff Donovan, dermatologist, Canada. This training covers all aspects of alopecia, from diagnosis to treatment options, including critical analysis of the scientific literature and the integration of trichoscopy into clinical assessment.

4

Clear discussion of the diagnostic hypotheses
